Late Payments, Late Fees and Penalties

Courses may be added as well as dropped without penalty until just before the beginning of each module (see Academic Calendar). CEU Business School reserves the right to charge a fee, currently €20, for each late drop and/or add. In exceptional circumstances, the Academic Director has the right to waive this fee.

On tuition fee due dates, the Student Services sends a Statement of Account to each student, detailing the status of his/her account.

If any tuition installment is going to be late, the student is obligated to inform the Head of Enrollment Management. If a student's account becomes overdue a €150 late fee will be added to the balance.

The student will then be granted a period of ten working days to pay the overdue amount. After ten working days, the individual's access to University/BS facilities will be suspended (in accordance with the CEU Business School Policy on Holds (see following). Unless directed otherwise by the Head of the Enrollment Management, the student’s status will be automatically changed to ‘suspended’.

In order to resume studies, that is, to be change status from ‘suspended’ to ‘enrolled’, the student will need to seek written permission from the Head of Enrollment Management, settle all financial obligations and pay a €150 reinstatement fee.

Policy on Holds

Failure to meet any obligation to the University/BS, including those conditions set forth in the individual's enrollment confirmation form and financial obligations, will result in suspension of access to student services including-but not limited to-transcripts, diplomas, access to the CEU computer network, the CEU Library, medical services, the University Information System (rental accommodation database, matriculation form, class registration), CEU Business School Facilities and foundation grants until the obligation is met and the hold is cleared by the respective office.

Refund of Tuition and Fees

In case of withdrawal or dismissal, the following refund schedule will apply:

For the Graduate Programs:

· If a student withdraws within 30 days from the start of the student’s first semester, CEU will refund 50% of any paid tuition.

· If a student withdraws by the end of the first semester of study, CEU will refund 25% of any paid tuition.

· There will be no refund of any tuition fees paid after the first semester of a degree program.

For the Undergraduate Programs:

· If a student withdraws or is dismissed from the program within 30 days from the start of each semester, CEU Business School will refund 75% of the amount paid for that semester.

· If a student withdraws or is dismissed from the program after 30 days from the start of each semester, CEU Business School will not refund any payments made to that date.

Conditional Admission Status

For Graduate Programs:

If a student is given permission to start their studies, despite not fully completing all of their admission requirements, he/she will be considered a “Conditionally Admitted Student”. A student will be allowed to stay in this status for a maximum of the greater of 7.5 credits or one semester (these limits can only be over-ruled, in exceptional cases, by the Academic Director. Should the student not fulfill the missing admissions requirements by the end of the maximum allowed number of credits or period, he/she will lose his/her right to continue studying in the degree program until all conditions for admission have been met.

In order to be allowed to study as a Conditionally Admitted Student, a per-credit fee must be paid, in advance, based on the number of credits taken, in addition to an ‘administration fee’, which is equivalent to the deposit specified in the original offer letter. The per-credit fee is based on the full tuition amount payable by the students taking part in the full program divided by the number of credits required for successful completion of the program (e.g. – MBA = 60; Master’s in IT = 30) and multiplied by the number of credits actually taken.

In case the Conditionally Admitted Student paid more than the per-credit fee at the beginning of his/her studies, he/she would receive a refund of the difference of the paid amount and the required fee as described above. If a Conditionally Admitted Student completes all outstanding admissions criteria and will be considered as a full time student, he/she is obliged to pay the difference of the per-credit fee and the full tuition fee. Such students also become fully eligible for any tuition reduction offers or grants offered.

For the Undergraduate Programs:

If a student is offered admission to either the DDIB or BSc program, despite not fully completing all of their admission requirements (official transcripts, certified copy of diploma official SAT or TOEFL results, etc.), he/she will be considered a “Conditionally Admitted Student”.

If a conditionally admitted student has not submitted official SAT or TOEFL (or other accepted English language certificate) results before the first day of classes, he/she will not be permitted to register nor attend classes.

A student, who is waiting to receive the official diploma and final grades from their high school, will be allowed to stay in this status for a maximum of the greater of 15 credits or one semester. Should the student not fulfill the missing admissions requirements by the end of the maximum allowed number of credits or period, he/she will lose his/her right to continue studying in the degree program until all conditions for admission have been met.

The Financial Policies of the CEU Business School are subject to change without any prior notice.
